When does the 2024 Summer holidays for students in Turkey start and end?

According to the Turkish timetable for the 2023-2024 academic year, the school year starts on Monday 11 September 2023 and ends on Friday 14 June 2024. There are a total of 180 working days in this period and the year is divided into two terms:

Term I.
Total Working Days: 90 days

11 – 30 September 2023: 15 days
02 – 31 October 2023: 23 days
01 – 10 November 2023: 8 days
13 – 17 November 2023: Interim Holiday (5 days)
20 – 30 November 2023: 9 days
01 – 31 December 2023: 21 days
02 – 19 January 2024: 14 days
Semester Break: 22 January – 02 February 2024 (10 days)
Period II
Total Working Days: 90 days

05 – 29 February 2024: 19 days
01 – 31 March 2024: 21 days
01 – 05 April 2024: 5 days
08 – 12 April 2024: Interim Holiday (5 days)
15 – 30 April 2024: 12 days
02 – 31 May 2024: 23 days
03 – 14 June 2024: 10 days
Special Days and Holidays
Eid al-Fitr Holiday: 09 – 12 April 2024 (3.5 days)
Eid al-Adha Holiday: 15 – 19 June 2024 (4.5 days, coincides with summer holiday)
Public Holidays 29 October Republic Day, 23 April National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk Youth and Sports Day (these days are counted as working days due to the participation of students in school ceremonies)
Regulations
Ministry of National Education Regulations: The school year shall not be less than 180 working days. The duration of the school year is calculated by counting the days when the school is open from the beginning of the school year until the end of the school year and the days of official and local holidays on which students participate in ceremonies.
This calendar has been prepared in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Ministry of National Education.
